We caught up with Marc Nathan of Capital Factory and the Houston Technology Center to discuss “Starting Up”.

Capital Factory is a seed stage mentoring program for startups that provides a small amount ($20k in 2009) of seed capital and weekly mentoring sessions by entrepreneurs who have founded successful companies.

Startup companies apply to participate in their 10 week program designed to get a startup pointed in the right direction with a clear path to product development, profitability and growth. At the end of the program, they host a “Demo Day” and stream it live all over the Internet.

Applications for 2010 will open in the spring. 10 finalists will be selected and the winning companies would be announced in mid-April.
